When Jesus cried out to His Father in the garden of Gethsemane, He modeled what our relationship could look like. In great distress He called out to His “Abba” to help Him as He approached the hardest moments of His earthly life. Abba means Daddy, or dear Father- revealing the tenderness of a childlike approach to the Father.
You have been born into the family of God, and you are joint heirs with Jesus. If you have been approaching Father like you would your boss or professor, receive your true identity today as a son or daughter. You have an Abba – He loves your tenderly and wholly. He is ever-present and everlasting.
Romans 8:15 “The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”
